Janice Huff Osborne

Janice Huff Osborne, 66, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, April 4, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Valdosta on June 11, 1943 she was a lifelong resident of Valdosta and a member of First Baptist Church. Janice was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother to her family. She was "best friends" with those close to her and everyone she met.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Greg Oliver of Lake Park, Tracy and Walt Gill of Valdosta, Jodi and Sonny Schwab of Hahira, mother, Aline Huff of Valdosta, sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Mark Orenstein of Valdosta; grandchildren, Will Branch of Valdosta, Kaylyn Gill, Kristin Gill, Cameron Gill of Valdosta, Walker Schwab, Jackson Schwab of Hahira; great grandchild, Mason VanWey of Lake Park; nieces and nephews, Scott and Lynn Orenstein, Dee and Dale Eason of Valdosta; brother-in-law, Wayne Osborne. She is also survived by an aunt and uncle and several other relatives. Mrs. Osborne was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin R. Osborne and father, Mike A. Huff.

Funeral services and entombment for Mrs. Osborne will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Mausoleum at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Reverend Mac Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum from 3 until service time. Following the funeral service at Riverview, a Celebration of Life will be hosted at the Gill residence until 7:30 p.m. (shuttle service will be provided from Riverview due to limited parking). Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
