Janelle Griffis Nichols

Janelle Griffis Nichols, 92, of Hahira passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Holly Hill Nursing Home. She was born on October 9, 1923 in Cecil to the late Rufus and Effie Lewis Griffis and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and working in her flower garden.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Lyn Stalvey, Pat and Gail Nichols, Lisa and Dwayne Joyner, daughter in law, Patricia Nichols all of Hahira; grandchildren and their spouses, Sharon and Don O'Neal, Kim and Rusty Trancygier, Steven and Billie Jo Nichols, Darrell and Michelle Nichols, Corey Nichols, Amber Nichols, Josh and Danielle Joyner; 20-great grandchildren, 2-great great grandchildren; sisters in law and brother in law, Billie Dean Griffis of Cecil, Betty Jean Herring of Barney, June and Katherine Nichols of Cecil. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmo Nichols, Sr., a son, Charles Elmo Nichols, Jr., son in law, George Harrell Stalvey, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, July 8, 2016 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-2pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary's Haven, 310 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, GA 31620.
