Jane Walko Yale, 82, of Valdosta died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Heritage Healthcare at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on September 2, 1927 in Denton, Georgia to the late Walter and Erna Teuber Walko and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Yale was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ where she had taught Sunday School and volunteered in many capacities. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Yale enjoyed flowers, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Nancy M. and Ron Butler of Scottsdale, AZ., two sons and daughters in law, Robert L., Jr. and Stella Yale of Valdosta, David M. and Jackyvette Yale of Suwannee, grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Stace Phillips, Robert Lee, III and Beth Yale , Allen Gregory and Laura Yale, Deidre Yale Hamilton, Michael R. Yale, Kayla Yale and Justin Yale, 8-great grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Eileen and Leroy DeMond of Meridian, Idaho, brother and sister in law, George and Nelda Walko of St. Petersburg, Florida, her aunt, Hilda Krum of New York, sisters in law and brothers in law, Betty Yale, Donald and Eugenia Yale, Charles Yale, Louise and Norman Sainz all of Valdosta, Arthur Yale of Havanna, Fla. and Norman and Jane Yale of Dallas, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Yale, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Mr. Bryan Jarvis and Mr. J. C. McMullen officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
