James Wright Blease, 80, of Nashville, died on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Warner Robins. Born in Pavo to the late James Hartwell Blease and Mary Wright Blease, he grew up in Barney and attended schools there. He went on to Georgia Military College in Milledgeville and then to business college in Atlanta. He built his career in upper management in the convenience store business, ultimately retiring as the Director of Operations for Holiday Markets. His favorite pastimes included woodworking and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He rode every year in the Outback Riders Toy Ride at Christmas, rode around the countryside but also across the country with family and friends. He was also a devoted family man and father.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Denise & Carlton Millett of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, son and daughter in law, Jeff & Robin Blease of Ocilla, daughter, Roni Jones of Grovetown, son and daughter in law Rick & Tracey Blease of Biloxi, MS and a daughter and son in law, Angie & Mike McDonald of Warner Robbins; two sisters and a brother in law, Georgia Mac Madsen of Carmichael, CA, and Vivien & Clint Smith of Orange, TX. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Michael (& Krystal) Millett, Samantha Millett, Alicia Blease, Ash (& Alexandra) Foxhaven, Felicia Cooper, Victoria DiPietro, Katie Maner, Joshua Blease, Kristin (& Samuel) Mahler, and William Wood; six great grandchildren, Elijah Milett, LilliAnn Millett, Sawyer DePietro, Indie DePietro, Owen Christian and Brynlee Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Dianne Blease and a sister Jeanette Sessoms.
The funeral for Mr. Blease will be held at 2 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Clyde Stokes will officiate. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Morven. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until service time.
