James Willard Wilkerson, 64, of Lakeland, GA passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 19, 1955 in Waco, TX to the late Jack Willard Wilkerson and Martha Ione Black Wilkerson. James was a retired mechanic and served in the United States Army. He was a member of Knights Memorial Church in Teeterville. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and Nascar. He loved to watch the GA Bulldogs games with his daughter, Cindy. James was a 1974 graduate of Lowndes High School.
He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Brian McKaig (Becca) of Ray City, Steven McKaig (Mandy) of Cutler Bay, FL, daughter and son in law, Cindy Wilkerson Simpson (Will) of Lakeland, grandchildren, Anson White, Ethan McKaig, Amber McKaig and Grant McKaig, sisters and brothers in law, Diane Beach (Phil) of Arab, AL, Kathi Williams of Valdosta, brother and sister in law, Ricky Wilkerson (Vicki) of McLoud, OK, several nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his parents, brother in law, John Williams and nephew, David Williams.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Spikes officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from ten a. m. until eleven a. m. in the chapel. Please wear a mask, abide by CDC guidelines and social distancing.
