James Wesley Simpson, 79, of Hahira, passed away quietly Monday, February 1, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Patricia Stubbs Simpson. They raised five children, Cindy (Jason) Webb of Hahira, Ga., Randy (Michelle) Simpson of Kathleen, Ga., Linda Fay (John Dee) Moore of Barney, Ga., Jennie (Jim) Norris of Tallahassee, Fla. And Laura (Terry) Watford of Hahira; 12 grandchildren, April (Jody) Warren of Lake Park, Ga., Christie Webb Register of Valdosta, Ga., Wes (Rozie) Simpson of Hahira, Ga., Alan Webb of Mayday, Ga., Shane Watford of Valdosta, Ga., Sharon Watford of Valdosta, Ga., Shelia (Brandon) Serna of Valdosta, Ga., Heath Ellenberg of Valdosta, Ga., Trey (Sarah) Norris of Tallahassee, Fla., Miranda Mulkey of Valdosta, Ga., Jason Norris of Tallahassee, Fla., A. J. Simpson of Kathleen, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Mack (Kay) Simpson of Barney, Ga; one brother-in-law, Harry (Carolyn) Stubbs of Hahira, Ga., sister-in-law, Brenda (Paul) Reaves of Hahira, Ga., sister-in-law, June Stubbs Carter of Lake Park, Ga., many nieces and nephews. Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Dorothy Hall Simpson, brother, Raymond Simpson, two sisters, Sylvia Croft and Linda Todd Black, two brothers-in-law, Marcene Croft and Tommy Todd, nephews, Mark Croft and Little Mack Simpson III, parents-in-law, T.A. (Buck) and Frances Becton Stubbs, two brothers-in-law, Frank Stubbs and Ashley Stubbs.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1pm at Friendship Cemetery with Mr. Curt Norman officiating. Burial will follow.
