James Walter Wills, 73, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at residence following an extended illness. He was born October 7, 1942 in Lexington, KY to the late James Walter Wills, Sr. and Gwendlyn Rue Wills. James proudly served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling in his spare time. He was loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed for his storytelling and his witty sense of humor.
Mr. Wills is survived by his wife, Sue Wills of Valdosta; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Linda Johnston of Port Richie, FL, Cathy and Bill Freeman of Deland, FL, Wanda and Doug Bollin of Valdosta, GA, Nicki and Michael Trinidad of Houston, TX, Jenny and Ashley Pope of Bacliff, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Sue Wills of Winter Haven, FL; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Bern Wills; his brother, Andy Wills; his grandson, Shane Johnston.
Services for James Walter Wills will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Carson McLane Chapel. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at www.mclanecares.com.
