James Robert "Rick" Steak

James Robert “Rick” Steak, 63, of Valdosta died Monday, October 18, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on July 17, 1958 to the late James Chevalier Steak and Dorothy Mae Noss Steak. Rick was an automotive technician for thirty five years, most recently at Price LeBlanc Toyota in Gonzales, Louisiana. He was an avid guitarist, car connoisseur and motorcycle enthusiast. Rick was a man of many talents. His biggest life achievement was the pure love given and received as a husband, father and “Poppy.”
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Steak of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Sarah Phelps and Dallas Gauthier, grandson, Benjamin Gauthier and granddaughter, Claire Gauthier, all of Gonzales, LA, son, Ryan Phelps of Valdosta and grandson, Kane Fontenot of Saint Amant, LA, sister, Sherri Steak Veazey of Gonzales, LA, brother, Jerry Steak of Moerbeke, Belgium, nephew, James A. Steak of Gonzales, LA, sister in law, Patsy Ball Byington of Valdosta, brother in law, Dan K. Ball of Cocoa Beach, FL and other numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family memorial service will be held at his sister in laws home on Friday, October 22, 2021 at six p. m. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
