James Richard Wingard

James Richard Wingard, 84, of Adel passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Crestwood Nursing Home, Valdosta, GA. He was born on July 1, 1935 in Mountain Creek, AL to the late Johnny Wingard and Ella Marie Nation Wingard. Mr. Wingard was a crane operator with Sullivan, Long and Haggerty in Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Cecil Baptist Church.
Mr. Wingard is survived by his wife, Margaret Wingard of Adel, children and spouses, Debria Owens of Wetumpka, AL, Shelia Peterson of Centreville, AL, Perry Wingard (Penny) of Bethlehem, GA, Terry Hughes (Cleo) of Hahira, GA, James Michael Wingard and Roy Wingard (Charlotte) of Jackson, MS and April Burleson (Bobby) of Calera, AL, twenty four grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and sister, Sandra Powell of Eclectic, AL. He is predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Bonnie McDonald Wingard, daughter, Rebecca Wingard, sister, Wyma Day, sons in law, Randy Owens and Pete Peterson and daughter in law, Sharon Wingard.
The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. (CST) Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Gassett Funeral Home, 204 East Charles Avenue, Wetumpka, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 at two p. m. (CST) at Reno Baptist Church Cemetery in McCalla, AL.
