James Neil (Jimmy) Cleary

February 12, 1962 — October 10, 2020

James Neil (Jimmy) Cleary, 58, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 12, 1962 in Bronx, New York to the late Robert Cleary and June Dawson Dallman. Jimmy was a retired chef and had last been employed with Church Street Café in Hahira before declining health forced his early retirement. He was a hard worker and loved spending time with his family at home. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Cleary of Valdosta; a son, Wesley McKee of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Will Moots of Hahira; grandchildren, Jennifer McKee of Valdosta, Will Moots III, Alyssa Moots, and Chloe Moots all of Hahira; sisters, Colleen Cleary of Maine, and Marcella Dallman and Michelle Bryson both of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris Cleary, and two brothers, Stephen Cleary and Bobby Cleary.
A graveside service for Jimmy Cleary will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira with Pastor Josh Owen officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home of Hahira. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Martin/McLane
