James Michael Welton

James Michael Welton, 48, of Desert Hot Springs, California died Monday, February 9, 2015 at Desert Regional Hospital in Desert Hot Springs, California. He was born on July 20, 1966 in Orlando, Florida. Michael was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a people oriented person, an artist, a chef, a poet and a gardener. He enjoyed painting and cooking. Michael graduated from Lowndes Christian Academy and graduated from Riley Business College in Dothan, Alabama in 1988.

He is survived by his parents, Carl O. and Joan Welton of Hahira, his brother, Christopher O. Welton of Valdosta, niece, Jessica Nicole of Hahira, three nephews, Ryan King and Jordan King of Pensacola, FL and Jacob King of Valdosta, many Aunts, Uncles and Friends and his best friend, Joe Duva of Desert Hot Springs, CA. Michael is preceded in death by his sister, Michelle King, maternal grandparents, James and Jessie Gilliard of Waycross, GA and paternal grandparents, Grace H. Welton and Harley Welton of Massillon, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 at two p. m. at New Life Baptist Church, 2904 Georgia Highway 76, Adel, GA with Pastor Donnie Duncan officiating.
