James Michael Mixon, 51, of Hahira died Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born in Hahira on October 26, 1961 and had lived in Hahira most of his life. Mr. Mixon was employed with Sun Crest Bank in Jacksonville, Florida and Cincinnati, Ohio and later with Days Inn in Valdosta. He was a member of the Barney First Baptist Church. He loved his family and water sports activities.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Alma Martin Mixon of Hahira, two sisters and brothers in law, Sue and John Avera of Lake Park, Sherry and Chuck Williams of Hahira, nieces and nephews, Chad (Staci)
Morin, Jennifer (Lane) Matthews, Stephen (Heather) Morin, Ashley Williams, April Williams, several great nieces and great nephews, special family friend, Jeff Register of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his father, James Melvin Mixon, grandparents, A. B. and Elizabeth Martin, Perry and Stella Mixon.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Wise and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home, 401 S. Church St., Hahira, GA 31632.
