Jimi was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on February 27, 1978. He attended grade schools in Dover, Delaware, and Frankfurt, Germany, before arriving in Valdosta in 1989, where he attended and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1997. As the son of a military father, it was here in Valdosta that Jimi really felt at home.
Jimi loved to play football. He was a proud member of the world-renowned Valdosta Wildcats Football team and an avid supporter of the Dawgs. When the Summer Olympics came to Atlanta in 1996, Jimi proudly ran with the torch relay team—led by the late legendary Wildcat coach Nick Hyder—as it wound its way through Valdosta.
He also served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Private First Class. Jimi was a true gym fanatic, always working out and encouraging others toward healthy lifestyles as a personal training director for LA Fitness and other gyms over the course of his career. He enjoyed meeting others who shared his passion for football and gym training.
He formed numerous friendships through the gym business, many of these friends have stayed in contact with him for 20+ years. Even as he battled cancer, Jimi still strived to remain healthy and continue his workout regimen. Jimi is preceded in death by grandparents, aunts and uncles, and two sons Christopher and Tatum George who died in vitro.
