James Ludy Hall

September 9, 1929 — November 25, 2008

James Ludy Hall, 79, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Randolph County, Indiana, Mr. Hall was the son of the late James Everett "Red" Hall and Rena Lavirl Zipperer Hall. He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Mr. Hall retired from the paper mill after working there for 38 years. He was a farmer and member of Lake Park United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Board, was a Trustee and active in many other church activities. Mr. Hall also served on the Board of Camp Tygart.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Guest Hall of Valdosta; daughters and sons- in- law, Sharon and Louie Flythe of Valdosta, Cindy and Glen Huff of Winter Springs, Florida, a son and daughter- in- law, Gregg and Terri Hall of Clyattville; grandchildren, Haley Flythe, Hunter Huff, Kailee Smith, Brandon Smith, Kristi Rigg, Brittany Rigg, Samantha Huff, Sabrina Huff; three sisters, Jo Ann Hartman, Margery Stephens and Wonda Arnold all of Valdosta; two brothers, Rev. Sherman Hall of Pavo and Lowell Hall of Lake City, Florida. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Hall.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Michael P. Lyons, Dr. William Warnock and Reverend Sherman Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or to the Lake Park United Methodist Church Building Fund. The Hall family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
