James Lewis Murajda

James Lewis Murajda, 79, of Bogart, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, surrounded by his family at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA.

He was born October 27, 1944 in Seymour, IN to John and Ellen Peace Murajda. James graduated from Valdosta High School in 1966. He served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. He then worked for and retired from the University of Georgia. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, Mason, and a member of Watkinsville 

First United Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Gerlock Murajda, and his brother, Douglas William Murajda.

James is survived by his daughter, Sherry Murajda Murvin (Robert) of Wilmington, NC; his son, Terry William Murajda of Colbert, GA; granddaughter Amanda Lee Murvin of Raleigh, NC; sister Barbara Murajda Nelson of Lugoff, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Maggy.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on November 18, 2023, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at komen.org.
