JAMES LEWIS BRAMBLETT, 76, of Morven died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a lengthy illness. He was born in Gordon County, Georgia to the late Willie Andrew and Earl Dean Bramblett and had lived in Brooks County for many years. Mr. Bramblett was a Methodist and owned and operated Bramblett Land Clearing and Pond Building. He enjoyed being on his bulldozer, fishing, riding in his truck, spending time with his family, cracking jokes and making up silly jingles.
Survivors include six daughters and two sons in law, Erline and Ron Beem of Valdosta, Debbie and Carl Eckerson of Byron, Janet Bramblett of Panama City Beach, Fla., Dianne Bramblett and her partner, Judy Power of Morven, Patricia Gail Bramblett of Valdosta and Donna Fleetwood of Morven, four grandchildren, James (Jim) Eckerson of Orlando, Fla., Chris Beem of Valdosta, Amber Williams of Charlotte, NC and Dennis Williams of Valdosta, former wife and life long friend, Nina Elliott Bramblett of Valdosta, two sisters, Arleen Dell of Morven and Nancy George of Quitman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Bramblett and Dick Bramblett and two sisters, Larzell Vick and Oma Jean Snow. A special thanks to Diane Smith and all of the C-Wing Staff at the Presbyterian Home for the loving care received during his time there.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, May 24, 2007 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Elvin East officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery in Morven. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Home in Quitman.
