James Lendy Rogers, 67, of Lake Park, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at his son’s residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lowndes County on September 8, 1955, to the late James Wright (Buddy) Rogers and Frances Juanita Johnston Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a retired dragline operator with PCS and a retired farmer. Outside of his love for farming, he also loved hunting and fishing, selling his watermelons he grew on the farm, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and above all living life to the fullest and having fun in the process. Mr. Rogers was a member of Jennings Church of God.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette and Jeff Patterson of Lake Park; his son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jessica Rogers of Quitman; his mother, Juanita Rogers of Echols County; his grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah Patterson, Austin Patterson, AnaKate Rogers, Jace Rogers, and AvaGrace Rogers; stepchildren, Teresa Crowder, James Williams and spouse Judy Williams, Tammy Griffis and spouse Dewey Griffis; step grandchildren, Joshua Williams, Aldtron Williams, Jaymee Roark, JT Smith, Kyle Smith, Tyler Crowder, Savannah Bennet, Racheal Griffis, Anthony Griffis, Jacklyn Griffis; numerous step great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jack Stone of Echols County; nephew, Craig Stone and a niece, Sheila Nobles. He was preceded by his wife, Patsy Carter Rogers.
A graveside service for James Lendy Rogers will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Carter Cemetery with Rev. Cynthia Mosley and Rev. Andy Schultz officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9-10:30 a.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park prior to the graveside service.
