James (Jimbo) Puckett, 48 of Hahira, died at his home on Monday, May 19, 2008. Born in Valdosta on March 18, 1960, he was the son of James Lorrine Puckett Sr. and the late Marie Wellmaker Puckett. Mr. Puckett was an auto mechanic, an avid NASCAR and a Dale Earnhardt fan. He was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Tricia Bolen Puckett of Hahira; daughter, Morgan Kinsey Puckett of Hahira; his father, James L. Puckett Sr. of Valdosta, sisters, Sandy Puckett of Lawrenceville, Karen Puckett Suttles of Douglas; niece, Autumn Suttles Musgrove of Douglas, nephew, Alex Suttles of Douglas, father-in-law, John Bolen of Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Reverend Willie Beasley, Reverend V.L. Daughtery, Dr. Craig Rikard and Eric Lucas will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Mr. Puckett will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time.
