James "Jim" Elliott, 75, of Morven died Friday, October 23, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on December 24, 1939 in McKinney, FL to the late James Platt Elliott and Goldie Mae Harvey Elliott. Jim was a process engineer in Alabama and Georgia. He was a maintenance supervisor for Union Tank Car and a member of Morven Church of Christ. Mr. Elliott was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working on farm equipment, enjoyed gardening, farmed in Cook and Brooks County and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Elliott of Morven, two sons and daughters in law, James Anthony and Kathy Elliott of Douglas, John Richard and J-Dawn Elliott of Madison, GA, grandchildren, Jake Elliott, Ben Elliott, Tiley Elliott and Cabe Elliott. Jim was also Papa to David and Debbie McDaniel of Morven, Pam McDaniel of Morven, Robert and Debbie Steedley of Hahira, James and Scarlett McDaniel of Calhoun, Jennifer and Clay Purvis, Courtney Steedley, Caitlyn Steedley, Savannah Steedley, Robert Spencer McDaniel, Lilly Anna McDaniel, Madison Purvis and Lucas Purvis. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harvey Edward Elliott.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2015 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Mr. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery near Morven. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
