James (Jimbo) Homer Tyre, III, 50, passed away unexpectantly on May 30, 2012 at his home in Circleville, Ohio. Jimbo was a graduate of Georgia Christian School and he attended Valdosta State College and Troy State University. He was the IMS Construction Field Supervisor for Howden International. He had worked for Galtfelter Paper Products in Chillicothe, Ohio. An avid gardener, he loved his Harley motorcycle, country music and he was a fantastic chef.
Jimbo was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Masonic Lodge 184 in Valdosta, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 244 of Valdosta, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 541 of Belpre, Ohio.
Preceded in death by his father, James Homer Tyre, Jr., and his sister, Pamela Tyre Muradja, survivors include his wife, Leslie Pittenger Tyre of Belpre, Ohio; his mother, Lois S. Tyre of Valdosta; one son, James Homer, IV, (Rachael ) Tyre of Greenville, North Carolina; one daughter, Ivy (Michael) Brooks of Eufaula, Alabama; one sister, Teresa (Pat) Frier of Weleska; five grandchildren, Mason Tyre, Harrison Tyre, Nathan Brooks, Melea Brooks and Matthew Lindsey; one uncle, Hugh Leggett of Brunswick, three aunts, Doris Logsdon of Sun City Center, Florida, Mildred McMullen and Elizabeth Miller of Brunswick; niece, Christy Sims Rucker of Swansea, South Carolina, nephews, Tyre B. Schultz and Jonathan Schultz of Valdosta; his mother in law, Sue Pittenger of Belpre, Ohio; eleven great-nephews and nieces and a number of cousins and numerous friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Phil West officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2 – 3 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
