James Frederick Waller, Sr.

James Frederick Waller, Sr., 84, of Hahira died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hahira on October 17, 1928 and was a son of the late Hugh Waller and Irene Rumph Waller Durley. Mr. Waller was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Navy having served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and later retired from Owens-Illinois as a machinist. Mr. Waller was a hard working man who loved the Lord and his family. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons, spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Evelyn Crosby Waller of Hahira, his daughter and son in law, Marilyn and Donnie Gardner of Douglas, GA, three sons and daughters in law, William and Robin Waller, John and Edra Waller all of Orange Park, FL, James F., Jr. and Laura Waller of Yulee, FL, 12- grandchildren, 16-great grandchildren, 1-great great grandson, sisters in law and brother in law, Madge Waller of Madison, FL, Grace Cannon of Lakeland, FL, Donald and Barbara Crosby of Petal, MS, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Davey Driggers, a brother, Edward Waller and two sisters, Laura Stalvey and Ruth Willis.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, August 4, 2013 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.
