James Earl Taylor

January 11, 1944 — April 18, 2014

James Earl Taylor, 70, of Quitman died Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 11, 1944 in Waycross to the late William Harley and Bertha Bullard Taylor and had lived in this area for many years. Mr. Taylor was a member of the First Assembly of God in Valdosta and owned and operated Azalea City Exterminating for thirty years.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Taylor, his daughter, Michelle Rogers and his granddaughter, Taylor Rogers all of Quitman, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Davis and Shelby Collins and three brothers, Leon Taylor, Edward Taylor and Robert Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, April 21, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Nichols and Pastor William Cotterill officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
