James Bernice Cooper

James Bernice Cooper, 92, of Covington and formerly of Brooks County died Tuesday, June 23, 2015. He was born on December 28, 1922 to the late Barney G. and Susie Hiers Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was a farmer and had been employed with Winn-Dixie and Owens Illnois. Mr. Cooper enjoyed gardening, walking, writing and being with family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Annette and Jim Coleman of Covington, GA; his granddaughter and grandson in law, Adrian Coleman Staples and Luke Staples; brother and sister in law, Dale and Nell Cooper of Lake Park. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Crocker and two brothers, Hught Cooper and Lee Cooper.
Graveside services will be held at 10am, Friday, June 26, 2015 at Morrison Cemetery, 13527 Moultrie Road, Barney, GA 31625 with Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
