Buddy Wisenbaker, 62, of Ray City died on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta on June 4, 1948, he was the son of the late Roy, Jr. and Evelyn Mae Mizell Wisenbaker. Mr. Wisenbaker attended Valdosta High School before joining the Navy in 1968. After his military service he joined the Valdosta Fire Department in 1970 and worked as a fire fighter until his retirement on December 31, 1999. He also worked for many years with his cousin Danny Lowery at Azalea City Fence. He was an avid fisherman and known by his friends at family as "always on time, if not early". He attended Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors are his son, Allen Wisenbaker of Valdosta; a sister and brother in law, Debra and Rev. Steve Ward of Lake Park; sister, Cindy Massey of Lake Park; aunts, Cammie Van Matre of Valdosta, Kay Anderson of Seveirville, Tennessee and Virginia Bell of Valdosta; a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wisenbaker was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Rager, a son, Chad Wisenbaker and a half brother, Jerry Lee Webb.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Copeland Cemetery. Reverend Steve Ward will officiate. Carson McLane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
