Jacqueline (Jacqui) Pool, 64, of Brooks County, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at her home.
She was born October 13, 1950, in Rockford, IL, a daughter of the late Maurice J. and Ruth L. Gates. For many years she taught at Hahira Elementary School and Pine Grove Elementary School, primarily third grade. Jacqui was a Presbyterian by faith, had taught ukulele classes as a volunteer with Learning In Retirement at V.S.U., was a member of the Strummers Act II, and loved music.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Thomas W. (Tom) Pool of Brooks County; son, Willie D. Pool of Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Pool Smith and Lt. Col. Andrew M. Smith of Tucson, AZ, and their children, Arrianna, Jaron and Trenton Smith; one sister, Maureen Bianchi and her husband Frank of Redford Township, MI; and a nephew, Frank Bianchi III and his wife Christine of Goodrich, MI, and their children, Caitlyn and Frank Bianchi IV.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Pool will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Hart officiating. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service and following the service at the funeral home.
