Jacqueline (Jackie) Stalvey Bayless

Jacqueline (Jackie) Stalvey Bayless, 80, of Valdosta, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Cook County, GA on September 24, 1933 to the late Thomas Eason and Annie Bell Futch Stalvey. Mrs. Bayless was a 1950 graduate of Cook County High School in Adel, worked as a telephone operator with Southern Bell and later was in charge of the proof department at C & S Bank. She and her husband moved and lived in Ft. Myers and Tampa, Florida from 1958 until 1962 and she then became a homemaker. Mrs. Bayless received Christ as her Saviour at Northside Baptist Church in 1953 and has been serving the Lord ever since. She helped start Faith Baptist Church and Venture of Faith Campground. Mrs. Bayless has been a member of Morningside Baptist Church for the past thirty years and has been a Sunday school teacher for fifty years. She has been active in the sign language and bus ministry.

Mrs. Bayless is survived by her husband of almost sixty one years, David Bayless of Valdosta, her son and daughter in law, David and Deborah Bayless of Hahira, her daughter and son in law, Cindy and Dale Weaver of Hahira, her son and daughter in law, Jeff and Teresa Bayless of Valdosta, five grandsons, Robbie (Brooke) Strickland, Brad Bayless, Blaine Bayless, Brett Bayless and Benjamin Bayless, two great granddaughters, Rylin Strickland and Karsyn Strickland, two sisters and one brother in law, Frances and Harvey Mays of Hahira and Peggy Folsom of Valdosta and one brother and sister in law, Tommy and Nan Stalvey of Hahira, four step grandchildren, Jimmy and Lisa Plair, Roger and Julie Weaver, Lee and Hope Weaver and Ross Weaver, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother in law, Betty and Earl Hambrick and Gene and Dorothy Stalvey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at two p.m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Robertson, Reverend Doug Mays, Reverend Roger Mays and Pastor Gene Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. She will be placed in the church at one p. m. The family will receive friends Sunday from four until six p. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
