Jacqueline (Jackie) Kelly Anderson

Jacqueline Mabel Kelly Anderson, 88, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 4, 1931, Jackie was the daughter of the late John Edward “Jack” and Mabel Genevria Beardsley Kelly. She grew up in Bridgeport and attended Stratford High School and soon moved to Sarasota, Florida with her family. After a previous marriage she met Robert Trotter Anderson and they were married in 1969. Jackie and Bob made their home in Sarasota and in Illinois before moving to Valdosta in 1995. She loved her yard and enjoyed working in it. Her hobbies were cooking and shopping. She was a faithful member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and her Bible Forum Sunday School Class, and she enjoyed fellowship with the Red Hat Society.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and George Mason of Valdosta; step daughter, Cindy Berta of Coal City, Illinois; grandchildren, Amy (Steve) Turnmeyer of Valdosta, Erik (Amy) Mason of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jason (Colleen) Berta of Coal City, Illinois, Todd (Kara) Berta of St. Louis, Missouri; great grandchildren, Mason Thompson, Marislynn Turnmeyer, Nicholas Berta, Brant Berta, Keaton Berta, Thad Berta, Addison Berta and Grace Berta; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Anderson, sister, Jean Kelly Burgess, son in law, Michael Berta, grandson, Thad Berta, and great grandson, Dane Turnmeyer.
In remembrance of Jackie family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday evening, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. A graveside committal will be held later in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Jackie to Hospice of South Georgia.
