Jacob "Jake" Copeland

Jacob "Jake" Copeland, 76, of Lake Park died Friday, June 27, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1937 in Valdosta to the late Jacob Granger and Mildred Peters Copeland. Mr. Copeland was retired conductor with Norfolk Southern Railroad and a faithful member of the Francis Lake Baptist Church. He loved to farm, fish and hunt. Mr. Copeland loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Bashie Copeland of Lake Park, two daughters, Bernice Moon of Valdosta, Susan Copeland of Callahan, FL, close friend, Tammy Castleberry of Callahan, FL, son in law, Jeff Holland of Jacksonville, FL, six grandchildren, Hidi and Jeff Moody of Jacksonville, FL, Tori and Sam Hutsell of Jacksonville, FL, Matt and Jenny Sue Holland of Callahan, FL, Sara and Mark Claydon of California, Michelle Crosby, Ryan Walker both of Valdosta, 14-great grandchildren, two sisters, Almarene Dawkins and Carolyn Jackson both of Clyattville, two brothers and three sisters in law, Robert and Joyce Copeland of Vadosta, Carlton and Linda Copeland of Alachua, FL, Mary Copeland of Lake Park, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters in law and brothers in law, Rose Carter of Clyattville, Ruby Morgan of White Springs, FL, Verdie Mae Agner of Madison, FL, Bill and Patty Fouraker of Madison, FL, Ichabod and Betty Fouraker of Valdosta, Dalceda Roberts of Valdosta, Flora Fouraker of Lakeland, GA. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Holland and a brother, John D. Copeland.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Benevolence Cemetery.
