Jackie Strickland Coombs

Jackie Strickland Coombs, 77, of Hahira joined her beloved husband in Heaven on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Colquitt County, Georgia on July 6, 1938 to the late John Howell and Odessa Willis Strickland. Mrs. Coombs was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and had worked in the Lowndes County Schools Lunchroom and South Georgia Medical Center. She was a dedicated wife and caretaker to her husband the late Robert F. Coombs. Mrs. Coombs loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her sister.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Patti and Terry Redding, Tim and Linda Coombs, Mike and Pam Coombs all of Hahira, Leslie Coombs and her fiancé, Cary Hirsch of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, Justin Redding and his fiancé, Ivana Micich, Garrett Redding, Chris (Carla) Coombs, Brittany Coombs, Rance Coombs, Corey Coombs and his fiancé, Ashley Williams, Callie Coombs, Jesse Coombs, Brad Bartlett and his fiancé, Anna Khorosh, Demi (Nick) Hyzer, Isabella Hirsch; great grandchildren, Grace Haney, Sarah Jane Coombs, Noah Hyzer, Oliver Hyzer; former son in law, Steve Bartlett and former grandson in law, Dean Haney; her sister, Edith Fields of Hahira; sisters in law, Evelyn Coombs of Valdosta, Kathy Strickland of Statesboro and Beverly Cowart of Valdosta; her brother, Wayne Bennett of Adel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Coombs, two brothers, James Strickland and Candler Bennett and a sister, Evelyn Meredith.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.
