Jackie Rudolph Crews, 81, of Dublin died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He was born in Valdosta on February 21, 1933 to the late Henry Manning Crews and Mattie Laura Cribb Crews. He attended Big Sandy Baptist Church in Dublin and was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Crews was a retired flight controller with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Wright Crews of Jacksonville, Fla, one son and daughter in law, Charlie M. and Debbie B. Crews of Valdosta, two daughters and sons in law, Becky Ruth and Chris Scott of Dublin, Sherry Dee and William Stacy Huckaby of Fayetteville, GA, five grandchildren, Jordan (Sarah) Crews, Laura (Stephen) Drew, Caleb Scott, Micah Scott and Ruthie Scott, four great grandchildren, Hank Drew, Charlie Crews, Nolan Drew and Henry Crews, three brothers and sisters in law, Henry and Judy Crews of Gainesville, FL, Wallace and Brenda Crews of Hampton, GA, Kenneth and Shirley Crews of Jacksonville, FL, one sister, Amy Mansell of St. John, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Martha Marie Crews, a brother, Ozzie Crews and a sister, Bobbie Hovan.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Scott officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
