Jack Smith Martin, Jr.

Jack Smith Martin, Jr., 62, of Lake Park, GA died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Savannah, GA on January 23, 1947 to the late Jack Smith Martin Sr. and Clois Alderman Martin. Jack was a residential building contractor, a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of New Life Community Church and a member of the Lowndes Viking Touchdown Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lovelle W. Martin of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Missy and Bobby Bennett, Liska Lovelle and Joe McKinnon, one son and daughter in law, J. Ryce and Amanda Becton Martin all of Valdosta, four grandchildren, Brooks Bennett, Sutherlin Bennett, Briggs Bennett and Piper Elizabeth Martin. Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Allsbrook officiating and special words spoken by J. Ryce Martin and Jim Langdale. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
