Jack Davis, 78, of Douglas, died on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Born in Rochelle on November 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Leonard and Julia Davis. An Army Veteran, he had lived in this area his entire life and had worked for 36 years with the Valdosta Fire Department. He was a Mason and member of the Azalea Lodge 716, a member of Corinth Baptist Church and attended the Lakeland Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Munda Davis of Douglas, daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Dino Ferrari of Lake Park, Elizabeth and Tony Fletcher of Douglas, Rebecca Peters of Dasher, a son and daughter in law, Heath and Cassie McFerrin of Dasher, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister, Pauline Young of Blountstown, Florida, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Lakeland Church of Christ. Evangelist Mardy Gardner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WOFSY of Georgia Christian School. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
