J. Lynn Knighton

Lynn Knighton, 52 lifelong resident of Valdosta, died on Friday, December 3, 2004 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. Born on January 19, 1952 in Valdosta, he was the son of the late Freddie and Mire Watson Knighton. Mr. Knighton was a local auto parts salesman for NAPA Auto Parts.

Survivors are his daughter, Patricia Ann Hines of Valdosta; son, Michael Knighton of Lowndes County; grandchildren, Michael Zane Knighton and Kyleigh Lynn Knighton, both of Lowndes County; brothers, Charles Phillip Knighton of Winder, GA, Walter Ray Knighton of St. Augustine, FL, David Lamar Knighton of Putnam County, FL; a special friend, Robin Proctor and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Carson McLane Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 6 until 8 p.m. A prayer service will also be held during the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an educational fund established for his grandchildren at First Federal Bank or to the charity of your choice.
