Ithiel Virginia Cody Harrison was born in Griffin, GA to James Hugh and Lola Barker Cody. She grew up in Thomaston, GA. She married the love of her life, Harold E. Harrison on 09/04/1949. Ithiel had been an active member of First United Methodist Church Valdosta until her health no longer permitted. She was a Charter member of the Valdosta United Methodist Women. She had been a volunteer for Vashti Center for Children and was selected as Volunteer of the Year. Because of her love of travelling and serving others, Mrs. Harrison served on multiple foreign mission trips. She enjoyed doing for others, and was known for sharing her famous sour cream pound cakes and homemade bread. She was a seamstress and made two wedding dresses for her daughters and a Christening gown for her grandchildren. She was an Auburn War Eagle and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Ithiel is survived by her three children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Harrison, Sr., her parents, James H. and Lola Barker Cody, her brother, James L. Cody and a son in law, Kenneth Borden.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Moon officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3pm, Wednesday at Southview Cemetery in Thomaston, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9am-10am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prayer Garden or the United Methodist Women in care of First United Methodist Church, 109 W. Valley St., Valdosta, GA 31601.
