Isaac Melton Weldon

Isaac Melton Weldon, 80 of Valdosta, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at a local nursing home. Born on May 18, 1925 in Hahira, he was the son of the late Alonzo Wesley and Ethel Mae Tarrant Weldon. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Aline Forte Weldon of Valdosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Skip Gibson of Valdosta, Gloria and Wayne Farmer of Thorsby, AL, Shirley and Tommy Harnage of Byron; grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Trina Gibson, Michael and Christine Farmer all of Valdosta, Lisa and Joe Welch of Riley, West VA, Kerri and Tommy Carter of Macon, Hillary Harnage of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Hunter Gibson, Hayleigh Gibson, Brenna Farmer, Forrest Snider, Corey Welch, Virginia Carter, Jessie Carter, Joy Carter and Kerrington Carter; brothers, William H. Weldon of Pigeon Forge, TN, Alonzo W. Weldon of Hahira and Gene Weldon of Ringold, VA. He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Weldon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Wisehart and Pastor Mickey Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
