Irvin David Casey, 78, of Quitman, passed away at his home in Brooks County on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Born in Doerun, Georgia on August 18, 1946, Irvin was the son of the late Dave and Blanche Casey. He retired after 34 years of working as a service technician for Colquitt EMC. He was a member of First Church of Clyattville. Irvin was a quiet, humble, simple family man, who enjoyed building things and wood working. A proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he loved his dogs and was an enthusiastic gardener.
Survivors are his wife Sandy Wisham Casey of Quitman, daughter, Wendi (Chuck) O’Neal of Quitman, sons, Tommy (Rebecca) Casey of Clyattville, Dave (Callie) Casey of Quitman; grandchildren, Jamie Hall of Valdosta, Kinsey (Jay) Densing of Lake Park, Paiton O’Neal of Quitman, Shiloh Casey and Mason Casey both of Clyattville, David Lee Casey, John Thomas Casey, Southern Casey, Sawyer Casey and Henry Casey; great grandchildren, Eli Hall and Evie Mae Hall. Mr. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Misti Mae Wyno, sister, Geneva Casey Hawkins, and brother, Billy William Casey.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Aaron Kight will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
