Irma Jane Hendrix of Valdosta passed away on May 11, 2023, at her home. Born in Lowndes County, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Lutrell Plymel and Aza Dell Allen Plymel. Irma was a seamstress. She had worked for Ithaca Textiles for more than 30 years. In addition to her career at Ithaca, Irma worked for several years as an Administrative Assistant at Greenleaf Products. She loved to crochet, to dance and to work in her garden. She was an avid fan of Elvis! Irma was an active member of the Pentecostal Deliverance Center in Jennings, Florida. She dearly loved her church and her church family. Most of all Irma loved spending time with her family.
Survivors are her daughters and son in law, Robbie (Jim) Rogers of Lake Park, Melissa Layman of Clyattville, son and daughter in law, Kenneth (Kyna) Spradley of Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Brooker of Cummings, Michael Brooker of West Virginia, Noah Brooker (fiancé Conner Creech) of Lake Park, Christian Hart of Colorado, Kiley Spradley of Tennessee, Charles (Lauren) Spradley of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Chase Aldon Brooker of Cummings, Mason Spradley of Valdosta, Forest Rebel Hart of Colorado, Emris Hudson Spradley of Tennessee; sisters, Lavern Guess of Monroe, Angie ( Ray) Adams of Mississippi. Irma was preceded in death by her parents and her son in law, Don Brooker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at three p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Reverend Edgar Wood and Reverend Andy Pearson will officiate. Burial will follow at Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McLane Lakewood on Monday before the service at 2:00 p.m. www.mclanecares.com
