Iris F. Register

IRIS F. REGISTER, 79, of Valdosta, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. She was born October 14, 1929 in Hahira, a daughter of the late Charlton and Willie Alice Tomlinson Fiveash. She was a loyal and highly decorated employee of the Credit Bureau of Valdosta for 37 years.

She was a member of Pine Grove Community Baptist Church, and she lived her life for the Lord and loved her church. She greatly enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As well as being a devoted mother and grandmother, she was known as "The Card Lady". She would always send cards expressing her concerns for others during difficult times and celebrating joyous occasions with those she loved and cared about.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce and husband Wayne Warren of Valdosta; two sons, Charlie and wife Connie Register of Hahira, and Andy Register of Valdosta; six grandchildren and their spouses, Donnie and Lisa Warren, Sherry and Carter Barton, Amanda and Chris Garland, Catherine and Ben Riggle, Stephen and Kelly Register, and Ike and Marianne Register; seven great-grandchildren, Whitney and Elizabeth Warren, Thomas Barton, Warren Garland, Ethan and Emma Riggle, and Luke Register; one sister, Dorris Hulett of Valdosta; one brother, Jim and wife Helen Fiveash of Bartow, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Helen Natsch, Pearl Lang, Mary Lou DeLoach and Marie Fiveash, and by four brothers, Elmo, George, C.A., and Raymond Fiveash.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh DeLoach and Rev. Roger Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O.
