Irene Hanna

Irene Hoke Hanna, aged 60, passed away on October 15, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born on January 27, 1963 in Ft. Myers, FL to the late Charles Henry Hoke and Catherine Amelia Doherty Dukes. Irene was the proud owner and operator of Crepe Myrtle Nursery for two decades. She found joy in spending time at the beach and tending to her yard. Irene shared 36 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband George. Her beloved pets, "Lucy" the dog and "Charlie" the cat, held a special place in her heart. Irene was known for her unwavering support for her family and friends.

Irene is survived by her husband, George Hanna of Valdosta; her daughter, Julie Hanna of Connecticut; her siblings and their spouses: Bill and Jennie Hoke of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Robert and Rose Hoke of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Charles and Dara Hoke of Charleston, SC, and Dan Hoke of Ft. Myers, FL; her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Paige Dukes of Valdosta; her sister, Catherine Wood of Valdosta; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Michelle Dudley.

A funeral mass at St. John Catholic Church will be conducted by Father Robert Phillips at 11am on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
