Irene F. Gallaher, 97, of Valdosta died on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born on August 30, 1923 in Niagra Falls, Canada to the late Ernest Henry Harrison and Sarah Alice Fox Harrison. Mrs. Gallagher served in the Women’s Land Army in England during WWII. She was a homemaker, a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, served in the Ladies Auxillary of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Holly Garden Club.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Gail Gallagher of Blackshear, Georgia, and Robert Patrick Gallagher of Valdosta; Two granddaughters and their spouses, Ginnie and Bruce Carter, and Karen and Wesley Owens all of Blackshear; great-grandchildren, Katelynn Carter, Matthew Vincent Carter, Braden Owens, and David Hollis Owens all of Blackshear. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Edward Gallagher.
A private family service for Irene Gallagher will be held in the chapel of the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel The inurnment will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
