Irene Cothren

Irene Cothren, 91, of Valdosta died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on May 5, 1917in Laurens County to the late John J. and Myrtle Braswell Bryan and had lived in Valdosta since 1958. Mrs. Cothren was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church and a retired grocery store and postal clerk.

Survivors include a niece, Joyce R. Peacock of Columbus, Ga., dear friends, Richard and Joyce Willliams, Marion and Evelyn Coombs all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Cothren and a niece, Evelyn R. West.

Graveside services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Richard Williams and Rev. Arthur Knight officiating.
