Inez Parker Steedley

Inez Parker Steedley, 88, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at her home. Born in Brooks County, Georgia on December 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Brown Parker and Cora Alma Guess Parker. Mrs. Steedley was a member of Perimeter Road Baptist Church and she always enjoyed the fellowship she shared with her Sunday School class. She was a devoted wife of fifty five years to her late husband, Jimmy Steedley and she was a Mother who truly loved her children and grandchildren. She had worked at Levi's Clothing Factory and for many years Mrs. Steedley drove a school bus for the Lowndes County School System. She was always eager to help those in need.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Francene and Dennis Pickard, Debra and John Wingert, and her son, Freddy Steedley and his fiance', Rita Goolsby all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Sandi (Robert) Woodward, Kris Cain, Mallory (Ryan) Cabrera, Tara Nichols, Scott Baker, Todd Baker and his fiance', Amy Slaughter, Justin (Molly) Baker, Lindsey (Zan) Childress, Brandi (Rob) Balmer, Michael Wingert; five great grandchildren, Larren Woodward, Bryce Eason, Trey Woodward, Landen Cabrera, Nolan Cabrera; special loved ones, Brittany Garrison and Jim Bishop; sisters and brothers in law, Kathleen and Frank Culpepper, Evelyn Caldwell Brinson and Carl Brinson, sister, Ruth Bush and brother in law, J.C. DeLoach all of Valdosta; two brothers and sisters in law, J.B. and Dorothy Parker of Valdosta, James and Sylvia Parker of Hahira, and sister in law, Mary Parker of Valdosta; special caregivers, Cassandra Hogan and Carolyn Goodson. Mrs. Steedley was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Parker, and a sister, Florene DeLoach.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Charlie Fleetwood, Mr. Mike Parker and Mr. Frank Culpepper will officiate. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery.
