Inez Copeland Williams

Inez Copeland Williams, 94, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Langdale Hospice House. Born in Lowndes County on June 22, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Bessie Lee Hunter Copeland. She was married to the late W. D. (Bill) Williams for 51 years. A homemaker, Mrs. Williams was associated with Copeland's Grocery Store and Schwartz Department Store. She was a faithful member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.

Survivors are her daughter Ann W. Hall of Valdosta; granddaughter and grandson by marriage, Melinda A. and Luke Hall of Coahoma, Texas; grandchildren by marriage, Dan and Joye Hall of Douglasville, Katrina and Jordan Essoe of Pittsburg, California; great grandchildren by marriage, Rebecca and Danielle Hall of Douglasville; sister by marriage, Pauline Johnson Copeland of Valdosta. Mrs. Williams is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she dearly loved and her church family at Forrest Park Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by sisters, Mollie Dasher and her husband Caulie, Myrtie Dasher and her husband Roy H., Sr.; and brothers, Rader S. Copeland and wife, Celeta, Dewey A. Copeland, J.W. Copeland and wife Nona, Jimmie Copeland and wife Ethel.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Terry Broome, Mr. Bill Ward, Mr. Luke Hall and Mr. Ray Joyner will officiate.
