Ina Z. Morris, age 90, of Valdosta and the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia, died Saturday, December 8, 2007. She was born in Lowndes County to Benjamin Oscar and Bessie Davis Zipperer on January 6, 1917. Up until the last 4 months she resided in Lowndes County all of her life. Mrs. Morris was homemaker with a love for her gardens, both flowers and vegetables. She received recognition many times for her yard on Toombs Street in Valdosta. She was a long time member of Lee Street Baptist Church and later Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris was married to Reavis Eugene Morris Sr. for 50 years, until his death in 1989. Her son, Wayne Davis Morris, also preceded her in death. Reavis and Wayne were the owners / operators of Morris Repair Shop in Valdosta for over forty years.
Survivors are a son, Reavis Eugene (Gene) Morris Jr. of Kennesaw, two granddaughters, four grandsons, and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by Reverend Sherman Hall at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel in Valdosta on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at two p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the services beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Morris may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes Memorial Program at 3000 Highway 42 N.
