HUGH L. WATSON, 87, of Valdosta died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born on September 8, 1918 in Etowah, Tennessee to the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Marion Watson and had lived in Valdosta since 1953. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Watson was a retired salesman with Valdosta Cigar and Tobacco Company and served on the Board of Directors for the Soup Kitchen.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Glenn Watson of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Michael and Sharon Watson of New Hampshire and one sister, Kathleen Watson of Etowah, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, February 7, 2006 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. A private committal will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10am until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the First United Methodist Church or to the Soup Kitchen.
