Hugh Carl Etheridge

Hugh Carl Etheridge, 79, of Hahira passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at The Orchard. He was born on July 16, 1942, in Berrien County, GA to the late Perry Julian Etheridge and Julia Myrtice Ray Etheridge. Hugh graduated from Hahira High School in 1960 and then became an electrician. He founded Etheridge Electric in 1978. Hugh was a member of Charity Baptist Church and served as a deacon there. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Shirley Parker Etheridge on September 26, 2018, and is survived by his children, Mike and Tina Etheridge, Gary and Angie Etheridge and Sherrie and Ricky Tripp all of Hahira, grandchildren, Corey Tripp (Anna), Daniel Etheridge (Theresa), Colton Tripp (Brooke) and Ruby Etheridge, great grandchildren, Parker Tripp, Paige Tripp, Callie Tripp, Blaire Tripp and Tate Etheridge. He is also preceded by his parents and his brother, Glen Etheridge and sister, Betty Jean Scarborough.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at ten a. m. at Charity Baptist Church, 4690 Shiloh Road, Hahira, GA with Reverend Beau Washburn and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery, Hahira, GA. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Friday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Flowers will be accepted but it is preferred that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association or to the Gideon’s International.
