Hubert A. Bruhl, TSGT USAF RET., age 87, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at his home. Born in Dallas, Texas on January 17, 1931, he was a son of the late Arthur H. and Beulah Shaddox Bruhl. Mr. Bruhl was a charter member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, church organist, and in many other capacities. He worked as a jet engine technician while serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. After his military retirement he was employed with the State of Georgia and Lowndes County.
Survivors are his wife, Shirley Bass Bruhl; daughter, Jeanne L. (Danny) Parsons of Valdosta; sons, Jonathan R. (Loujeania) Bruhl of Panama City Beach, Florida, James A. (Sheila) Bruhl of Naylor, Jeffrey W. (Connie) Bruhl of Scio, New York; grandchildren, James A., Jr. “Jimmy” (April) Bruhl, Janice L. (Jon) Hamel, Joshua W. (Julia) Bruhl, Jessica (Jay) Daly, William Parr, Leanne (Michael) Powell, Travis Middaugh, Andy (Kay) Middaugh; Great grandchildren, Austin, Jace, Jacob, Zowie, Kayli, Karie, Ryan, Rhett, Reed, Gwen, Gracie, Travis, Jr; Brother in law; Dr. James E. (Audrey) Bass of Valdosta; Brother, William Bruhl, Troy, Pennsylvania; Sister, Elizabeth Brown of Elmira, New York; Brother, David (Mary) Bruhl of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Skip Van Nus will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until service time.
