Howard E. Rogers, Sr., 50, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born September 14, 1961 in Valdosta, a son of the late John L. Rogers, Sr. and the late Bonnie F. Greene Rogers. Howard graduated from Lowndes High School with the Class of 1978, and was a lifelong logger. He was a fun-loving, good-hearted, hard-working, Christian country boy and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Howard Rogers, Jr. and wife Brandi, and Brad Rogers; five grandchildren, Jordan, Jacie, Katie, Cole and Tate, all of Valdosta; sister, Pat "Evelyn" Monier and husband Ferral of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, J.L. Rogers and wife Joan of Lake Park; sister, Irene Smith of Valdosta; many nieces and nephews; very special friend, Sissy Mullinax and her children, Jessica, Jenny, and Christopher, all of Valdosta; and the mother of his sons, Debbie Allen of Valdosta.
Funeral Services for Howard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, Lake Park, with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
