It is with great sadness that the family of Horace R Thomas Jr of Hahira announces his passing after a long illness, on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the age of 80. He was born February 6, 1935 in Adel, Ga to the late Horace R Thomas Sr. and Buna Quinn Thomas.
Horace will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Erma J Howell Thomas and his children, Dona T Croft and Vance A Thomas (Tracy). Horace will also be affectionately remembered by his three grandchildren, Jenifer L Mann, Jarrod Thomas (Sarah), and Brett Thomas (Alison) and two great grandchildren MacKenzie Mann and Zackary Mann. Horace is survived by and fondly remembered by his sisters, Grace Howell and Imo Jean Wetherington. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law James Berry Croft, his brothers- in- law Jack Howell and Robert Wetherington, and life-time friend Wilbur Bennett
Honoring his request he will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date at the family plot at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens, with Paul Johnson officiating.
