Hollis M. Courson, 83, of Hahira, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 13, 1922 in Lowndes County, GA to the late Henry Manning and Lula Shierling Courson. Mr. Courson was a World War II Air Force Veteran and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Moree Courson of Hahira, one son and daughter in law, Mike and Susan Courson of Valdosta, one daughter, Ruby Riesinger of Hahira, five grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Courson, Adam Courson, Kyle Riesinger, Christian Riesinger and Caitlyn Riesinger, two great grandchildren, Antony and Rhiannon, one brother, John T. Courson of Valdosta and Treva Vickers of Hahira and is preceded in death by one son, D. Wade Courson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
